For about half a year I was accompanying Jutta Ebnother, ballet director of the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin, while she was working on her choreography of “die Schöpfung” (“the creation”) composed by Joseph Hayden. The results were 1000s of pictures in the ballet hall, snapshots of first steps, the first encountering between dancers and singers and, finally, the full practices on stage. I was mostly interested in images taken during sequence of movement and additionally in the silence in between, in the moment, that we sometimes cannot see because it goes by so fast.
